Safari 4 Downloaded 11 million times in 3 days

at 12:08 - 12th, June 2009
Apple announced today that safari has more than 11 millions downloads in 3 days. pretty impressive.

Apple today announced that more than 11 million copies of Safari 4 have been downloaded in the first three days of its release, including more than six million downloads of Safari for Windows. Safari 4 is the world's fastest, most innovative browser and is built on the world's most advanced browser technologies including the new Nitro JavaScript engine that executes JavaScript nearly eight times faster than IE 8 and more than four times faster than Firefox 3. Safari quickly loads HTML web pages more than three times faster than IE 8 and three times faster than Firefox 3.

excuse the marketing in the second half of that.
i'm sure a lot of people will be going back to firefox after they try safari simply because of the amount of addons and extensions available. i think i'll stick with safari 4 for a while. it's fast, light weight and renders pages properly. until they release firefox 4 that is.

Addons are actually the only thing keeping me from switching to Chrome. I love Chrome, but I really love all the addons I've got for Firefox.

Adblock, Firebug, Grab and Drag (for my tablet), Linkifcation, SkipScreen, Greasemonkey, and DownThemAll. Mainly Adblock, though.

Greasemonkey doesn't really do anything on it's own. It's just a scripting engine that you can plug stuff into. Like Linkifcation, for instance, which takes tinyurl links (and bit.ly and the others), and converts them into full links on load.
