You search for treasure and you find
A wandering monster, but digital now.

Heroquest is getting a digital version. Not entirely sure what that means to be honest but brings back a lot of memories, that's for sure.

New modding tools for modding old pc games on the fly - RTXRemix
This is pretty interesting. NVIDIA has been developing, or at least help develop tools that would allow modders to add RTX lighting to almost any game. At least it started out that way, but soon became a tool one can use to exchange assets and textures as well.

Apparently, and this is a very Layman's way of saying this, the tool is able to do this by "interrupting" the drawing of assets, lighting and textures and replacing them with whatever someone wants before they are drawn on screen.

It's sounds overtly complicated, but this video shows precisely how easy the system actually works.

You will need RTXRemix and an Nvidia card of course.

DemiGod has a piracy problem
There's a game called Warcraft 3, perhaps you've heard of it? Anyway, warcraft is like starcraft, very modular and modifiable when it comes to 3rd party patches and addons. Dota being an extremely popular 'expansion' to warcraft 3. it makes the game into a team vs team assault type game. very deep gameplay wise.

did i mention it was popular? so popular in fact that the team behind it got together with a publisher and started making demigod. demigod pretty much is dota without warcraft 3. with just as much depth and tremendously improved graphics.

make sure you watch it in hd.

now be honest, game looks fantastic right? a lot of other people think so as well. plus the already installed fanbase from warcraft, that makes a good amount of people. but it's not all good news...
"Sadly, most of the ~120,000 connections are not customers but via warez. About 18,000 are legitimate. So anyway, we spent a lot of time today trying to isolate out the warez users from the legitimate users (it would require a lot of surgery to actually break them and even if we did, there'd be no friendly "ha ha pirate" message which would result in people just saying the game is buggy)..." -- Frogboy via The DemiGod Forums

that's over 88% of the players pirating the game. insane. now i know piracy can and is a problem for some companies, look at world of goo for pc/mac. they had the exact same problem, never released any numbers but said pretty much the same thing. sad really, goo is great, as i'm sure demigod is as well.
