It's for the Wii, not the WiiU which is kind of surprising considering the timing. Looks pretty interesting, colourful and fun. The online doesn't really appeal to me and I'm pretty sure none of you will be playing it online anyways so it's no big loss.

The online component is not optional. It's an MMO with a fee. The first few hours are offline (probably the starting area, like in WoW), but after that you have to pay to play.

Also, it's going to be on the Wii U as well as the Wii. It's not made for the Wii U primarily because it's been in development for eons.
