at 10:14 - 25th, March 2011
so I was in st martin for a week and the site got really quiet. One of those things I don't like seeing.

So to get people talking again let's have a status update from everyone. I'm sure that you guys haven't done anything since I left, since i'm the very fabric that holds all of us together :P

Check the comments for my update!

So st martin was fantastic and not nearly as expensive as i originally thought it would be. Whats great about the island is that it's half french. So it's as if you're travelling to the south of France, I love the south of France. You're still in the Caribbean, still have the excellent beaches, still feel like you're away from everyone but at the same time, in terms of food, you can get pretty much anything you can get in France on the island. so instead of eating out all the time we ended up buying from the grocery store and eating at our bungalow.

And the bungalow... Vikie really knows how to pick these places. it was overlooking a small marina filled with mostly catamarans and sail boats.

The bungalow itself had a huge verandah and inside was a single bedroom with small space for kitchenette and eating. outside we had a small garden, a bar-bq and a nice big patio table for eating on. I'll try and post picture later.

I would go back to this place in a heart beat.

I'll also post more about the trip if people want to know.

So tell me, what have you guys and girls been up to?

Been very busy and tired this week. Not much happening with me other than the computer purchase. Also helping my grandmother move tomorrow.

No, it's not really a home. It's more like a set of apartments that has nurses on location. She's still pretty independent.

It's a dell but i only changed the RAM from 6 to 8. It was 999$ without tax. Took about a week and a half to get delivered. Forgot to mention that there was no screen with it. Already have a good 24".

awesome, i'm likely going to get the upgraded version of this:

3.06GHz Intel Core i3 *****
8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive
ATI Radeon HD 4670 256MB GDDR3 SDRAM *****
8x double-layer SuperDrive

it's in a 21" screen, but who knows if they'll discontinue that screen size and go with the 24"

the ***** are the likely things to change. the gpu is old and the cpu is the first generation i3, they'll probably go with the second gen i5 or i7 in the model i'm looking for (low-mid end)
