Do not pick up the 360 slim while it's on

at 15:00 - 18th, June 2010
i know the last version was notoriously bad for killing discs but not nearly as bad as this...

It may be stupid, but the journalists over at Destructoid were running their new Xbox 360 with a copy of Alan Wake in the disc tray when they decided to pick it up, turn it over and examine the machine - while running. The disc scratched itself to death, and their video highlighting what happened became a pretty major subject of contention on N4G and other websites.

So, do gamers have to worry about the new Xbox 360 chewing up their discs, or is this just a case of stupidity?

Nope, that's about the same as the last version. You'd get a scratch like that if you you tipped it on it's side when the disc was spinning.

Yep, this is nothing new. I don't really move my consoles around while they're running or have discs in them, though, so it's never been a concern.
