I'm apprehensive about this one.

The Legend of Zelda sage Eiji Aonuma has said that he'd like to produce a 3D remake of the SNES classic...

now if you read further, he wonders what a 3d link to the past would be like, so he never actually says he is or will do it. link to the past in my eyes is one of the best zeldas, but leave it alone. it's like lucas redoing his starwars movies, again...

besides, how bout we let zelda sit for a while, or at least have a spin off that doesn't have zelda or link, it's just something from the hyrulian universe. hell even let people play as ganon. i think that'd be kewl. and Aonuma is definitely the guy who would push the series in that sense.

Zelda would be cool but I would prefer a longer Zelda. They are always very short and the kingdoms so small you have to wonder how important Hyrule really is. A Ganon story would be cool but probably too risky for Nintendo.

And the snes game could be finished in under 6 hours so no thank you on that. If one thing bothers me is how pathetically easy the games are plus as mentioned their run time. Such a waste

i think it's more of a marketing ploy than anything else, i'd prolly pick it up just to say i have it, but not at full price

and generally, zelda's are far too short. i don't mean gameplay wise either, they try to fill it with treasure hunting, which kind of sucks because i want more story.

i think they keep it simple, story wise, for the E rating. what they should do is make a more adult oriented zelda type game. not necessarily zelda, but one like it.

Then it would not be Zelda and god willing they would hopefully have a cool enough character to replace him.

a little off topic but did you see the whole L block thing on gamefaqs? so silly

and people keep saying nintendo needs new ips, i think they should buy out a 3rd party company and get them to make a more tenn-mature themed zelda-esque game.

the main character would need to be silent of course, and it would have to be 2nd party because god knows nintendo isn't going to do it

I want that Tingle Rose-Coloured Rupee Wonderland whatever it's called game dammit (9>E<)9 But there's a lot of things you can do with the Zelda theme. They can play more on the essence of what makes the series. Play more on the light and dark themes and take it to the limits without going M-rated or God of War. Hell, maybe even fight Zelda (which was awesome in TP but again it wasn't played out to its full potential). I don't want more remakes. Reminds me too much of Squeenix and their Final Fantasy remakes...

Yeah, while I enjoy the occasional remake, Square has a tendency to remake games 4 times over. Next gen they will remake them all in 4D!!!

thats the last thing i want, remakes of old zeldas...maybe rereleases would be fine, like through vc or 10th anniversary disc type of thing for a small fee (cost of plastic and shipping) but no remakes.

also, i'm curious about tingle's game. i hate the character but have know idea what the game is about.

and from what schu was telling me today, the e3 demo of the pigmen capturing the ilia(?) in twilight princess was a lot better than the final release of the game, think end battle of sword to the head with ganon from wind waker good. no blood or anything M rated, but something poetic about it...
i wonder why they changed it

It was pretty violent. There wasn't any blood but I think the ratings board had something against a little boy getting hit with a club to the head and a girl getting arrowed in the back.*shrugs* Then again, the E3 changing into wolf part was also better done (which leads me to believe it wasn't done in engine but rather faked like most companies do when they're showing off new stuff).

I played the Tingle game in japanese a bit off my friend's emulator thingy about a year ago. It's pretty crafty! And looks great (save for the EXTREMELY CREEPY LADY in Tingle's save computer thing). You use rupees for everything.
