Kamikaze general was a last resort type of thing. As in, my plane is hit and i'm going down might as well take them out with me. the human torpedo/missiles is true though. There was one story of the last of the Imperial Air Fleet being manned by rookies just out of flight school in outdated planes loaded with explosives that were sent out specifically to crash into the battleships and air craft carriers of the US Navy. They failed though. most of them were taken out by anti-air and US air force.
