One of the things I'd always wanted to do with my Wii U was to mod it. I even bought the ds games that were supposed to help with breaking open the os before they shut down the store. I just never got around to it.
Things have changed drastically since then and I think this might be even easier now with way more to do including getting the wii u online services running again.

I'm just waiting on a power cable to see if that's what the problem with my wii u is. The cable I have seems to have some fraying on it so I'm hoping a simple replacement will get the thing working again.

This is so typical. I held off as long as I could on buying a Switch because there was always rumors of a Switch Pro model just on the horizon. Kind of like the DS, DSi, 2 and 3DS XL models inevitably being released. And the jump from standard to XL was always such a huge leap in both processing power as well as screen space that it just made sense to either upgrade if you already owned an original or wait until the XL came out.

I got a switch because I wanted to play Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, it was a must buy for me. I'd waited long enough and Nintendo kind of seemed like they gave up on the idea of a Switch Pro.

I finally got it in my hands and then 2 weeks later Nintendo announces they're working on a successor. I'm not surprised by this, not at all, but damn man, I was expecting a bit of a delay. I guess I just took too long to get a Switch.

Anyway, the question of backwards compatibility now arises. Nintendo hasn't made any official statement other than, we have "no comment". So leave it to MVG (Modern Vintage Gaming) to take a dive into it. If you have never heard of this guy, he's great. Has a history of programming and specifically takes deep dives into emulation. Pretty intense stuff and pretty interesting.

So, i'm at futureshop. i have the 360 Pro model with 60 gig hdd, 1 remote and headset in my hands and i just couldn't justify buying it. i walked up and down the isle looking at all the games and couldn't see a single one i wanted to get, even if i were to theoretically download them i still couldn't justify it.
i even called eric, christophe and johnny to get them to convince me and the most i got is, it's a good deal for what you're getting, but then the question of games came up and none of us could alter my thinking. christophe even went as far to say don't buy it, it's not worth the trouble, just get a ps3. eric kinda said the same thing, just without the gusto.
i finally called vikie to ask her if she would play it. she said no more than the wii. which then got me thinking, i have a wii, don't need the 360 right now.

i might regret not picking it up, but the way i look at it is i have 200 bucks that i can put into something i need to, like the car or apartment.

anyway, i picked up muramasa the demon blade. will let you know how it is later.
