It's amazing how much more you get done when the kids aren't around... I've been programming a simple little inventory system for us to use at work and of course listening to a lot of music while I work. This seems like an old song, but it's very catchy and plays well into my laid back music mood I've been in to help me focus.

I thought this week I'd slow things down a bit. Here is Chicane, a DJ known for a mix of stuff like Saltwater and Offshore. I was first introduced to him through my liking of Bryan Adams.
This has a nice beat through most of the song and is oddly familiar. Once the piano kicks in you should recognize it and maybe it'll put a smile on your face like it did mine. :)

I was really contemplating not posting anything today because life in the last little while hit me harder than i expected.
Up until yesterday I've been listening to alternative music, some might think this isn't a big deal but to me it is because for the last 2-3 years my taste in music shifted dramatically towards electronic music. So much so that I had trouble listening to anything else. Used to drive the people around me crazy. I blame Bal en Blanc and the events surrounding it for my lack in interest in trance.
Yesterday I was having someone listen to some music, some trance music. People here don't appreciate it nearly as much as people in the rest of the world. But in showing this song to her it brought back a lot of what I loved about trance and got me back on the ball so to speak.
Anyway, a bit of a departure for me from the typical type of music that I show off here. This Chicane and 1000 mile stare. somewhat of a chill mix, good for lounging.

And now for the show stopper. This is the live set of Angel C. Who's Angel C you ask? Just some DJ, i've found a couple of them under this alias so it's hard to tell which one he is. Anyway, the reason i posted his liveset (freely distributed here) is because he uses a lot of music I like, the set is relatively shorter than the 3-5 hour sets at the bigger parties and thus smaller so easier to stream like this.
Yes, stream.
enjoy, and happy birthday! :D

Saltwater. great little song by a guy who calls himself chicane. from the wiki
"Saltwater" is a song by Chicane, alias of English producer Nick Bracegirdle. The track is in-effect a trance remix of Clannad's 1982 hit Theme From Harry's Game with re-recorded vocals by Irish Celtic folk singer and former Clannad member Máire Brennan (After direct sampling of the original had been refused).[citation needed].
It was released as a single in 1999, reaching the #6 position on the UK Singles Chart and becoming a popular dance track in clubs across Europe. In 2003 the song was used in a national tourism campaign for Ireland and also by Belfast City Council in adverts promoting the city.
looking on the internet for a video of saltwater is not easy, there's so many remixes and so many video of the same songs.
so i've decided to give a couple that stand out to me.
first the original. gotta give credit when credit is due right.
next is a trance mix by the thrillseekers. the thrillseekers are an incredible group. but to me their remixes are better than most of their original stuff. this version is more of a chillout tune, something you would listen to while programming at night or have playing during a rainy day, maybe after a night of partying with friends.
finally, because i really need to end this since i could keep going on, euphoria.
a little more upbeat, more techno / trance based, something to get you moving a bit more.
what the hell, one more for kicks. the original tune with the itunes visualizer called jelly.
