Firefox - a modern ai browser
Whatever that means anyways...

I don't know what Mozilla is thinking with this one, but my firefox updated and I got an alert about ai implementation in it. Clicked read more and in the new tab, disable. Thanks Mozilla...

I'm getting tired of AI everything. Can we move onto the next fad already?

Latest Apple malware is ransomware
This specifically targets safari users, it doesn't take over the browser or the computer but basically just loads up a javascript site that opens 150 iframes and closing the windows throws a popup notification. Safari has an "re-open windows that were open at quit" option so if a user tries to simply quit safari, when they reopen the browser the ransom continues. Also, the idea behind it is that people will get tired of closing popups and simply pay the $300.

Warnings appearing to be from the FBI tell the victim: “you have been viewing or distributing prohibited Pornographic content.. To unlock your computer and to avoid other legal consequences, you are obligated to pay a release fee of $300.”

Mac ransom

One way to get around this is to hold option when reopening Safari, that stops previous windows and sites from opening. No word of what sites cause this behaviour though.

Things to note: this was a Windows attack years ago and just now comes to mac. Browsers like Chrome have a built in javascript blocker for popups. Open the first and everything is ok, open a second one and chrome throws out a checkbox asking you if you want to keep opening alerts.
