i haven't heard anything, good or bad, about dell's netbooks
i'm curious as to apple's take on the netbook, supposedly going to use a derivative of the iphone OS.
anyway, can you think of any one else who should of been
This is coming soon to WiiWare and possibly other consoles (not sure about that yet). I especially like the references to TMNT and Bionic Commando on the NES.
i'll take it one step further and say there's something that looks like Metal Gear and Jackal in there.
Great find curt.

A little eight-legged pickpocket that darts around acacia trees could be the first known vegetarian spider.
Bagheera kiplingi belongs among the big-eyed, athletic predators in the family of jumping spiders and gets its name from a panther in a Rudyard Kipling story. Yet a population of these spiders in Mexico mostly eats bits of the acacia trees, says Christopher Meehan of Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
A few other spider species do taste vegetable matter now and then, says Yael Lubin of Ben-Gurion University in Sede Boqer, Israel. Male crab spiders that spend their brief mating-oriented adult lives sitting on flowers will sip nectar for a little energy boost. And some baby spiders eat spores that have stuck to a web. But on hearing about spiders specializing in stealing vegetarian food, “I was absolutely floored,” Lubin says.
next is a video of christophe dancing
and finally something about gaming
First Contra and Gradius got the “ReBirth” treatment, and now – if a recent ESRB listing is to be believed – Castlevania is next in line.
Titled “Castlevania the Adventure ReBirth,” the game’s ESRB description is as follows:
“This is a side-scrolling action game in which players battle against monsters in Dracula’s castle. Players use a chained whip to fight their way through halls and dungeons filled with zombies, skeletons, flying eyeballs, and bats. The enemy creatures frequently shoot projectiles and attack players in hand-to-hand combat. If players sustain too much damage, they keel over and emit a burst of red blood. Some rooms in the castle also have spikes or spears stained with red, blood-like splotches.”
Title sound familiar? That’s because a series entry on the Game Boy shared the same moniker. Could this be that game’s Dracula-esque resurrection? Probably. Either that, or Konami just loves confusing us.
Oh, the game will be rated “T,” in case you were wondering. That is sort of the whole point of this ESRB thing, isn’t it?
i still have to pick up the other two rebirth titles. konami seems to understand that people want simple remakes of their older titles, not complete overhauls of their games like the stuff capcom is trying to trow our way with bionic commando.

i'm sure this will come out for other consoles on their respective network download service.
Contra Rebirth has been released and has gotten nothing but goodreviews even though it's incredibly hard.
now the ESRB is listing a release for Castlevania Rebirth

Wow, both vikie and i were blown away by this.
We bought the wiiware version of this game and when in the middle of the process you get a message from squenix saying that the game is pay to play online. so i thought that it was like final fantasy y life as king, download extra content as in costumes and skins. figuring maybe they would allow you to buy new weapons and characters, you knw, the typical thing that a lot of companies are doing now.
nope. 5 hours in and vikie's beaten it already. apparently what they don't mention is that it's an episodic game, meaning you get the first 3 'chapters' of the game and when finished those you can decide to download the rest in individual chapters for 3$US. only one other chapter is out right now.
here's a list of chapters and release dates as well as prices
Tale Title Chapter Number Wii Points Required North American Release Date
Return of the Moon1 1 800 June 1, 2009
The Last of the Red Wings1 2 02 June 1, 2009
Return of the Dragoon1 3 02 June 1, 2009
Rydia's Tale 4 300 June 1, 2009
Yang's Tale 5 300 July 6, 2009
Palom's Tale 6 300 July 6, 2009
Edge's Tale 7 300 July 6, 2009
Porom's Tale 8 300 August 3, 2009
Edward's Tale 9 300 August 3, 2009
The Lunarian's Tale 10 300 August 3, 2009
The Crystals 11 800 September 7, 2009
after some math and from what other people have said, the game should come up to roughly 36$, not so bad considering people online are saying it's a full fledged game and when the original came out for snes back in the day it went for 60$. and your characters/equipment/items/stats and everything else gets moved over to the next chapter when ready.
initially i was upset, when i buy something i expect to get the whole thing, especially when it's a game. i hate DLC, especially when it's already on disc and you unlock it by paying 3 bucks.
now that i think of it, there might be technical reasons for this as well. maybe the game is larger than 45 megs, which is the limit for wiiware.
so final words, be weary of what you're buying. i didn't know, and when i think of it i'm not sure i would of bought this knowing it was episodic, sneaky buggers.

looks interesting. i'm kinda happy that they didn't stick to the same formula of the original, as good as it was.
looks kinda like a mix between sim tower and turret defense.

Alex -
speed isn't really an issue unless we're talking download speed and network infrastructure...
This is absolutely retarded if it's true. Gamasutra.com is reporting
Multiple sources have indicated to Gamasutra that there is a minimum amount of sales, on a per-territory basis, that WiiWare developers must reach in order to recoup any money at all for their games.
It is believed that this sales number is set in the mid-four figure range for North America, and lower four figures for individual European territories.
Until a WiiWare title sells over that number, nothing will be paid out -- although when the threshold is made, the full royalty amount is given to the developer, taking into account the amount of copies sold at that figure.
this makes sense with the amount of shovelware on the wii. with storage isues and no demoes on wiiware it's a very mixed bag. people, myself included, aren't willing to buy random stuff without knowing at least a bit about it first, and devs not willing to produce things because they might not think they'll get paid.
