xbox because its owned by microsoft and the operating system is really fail
which considering its microsoft should have been integrated perfectly the first time instead of them having to update it 2 years down the road...

MS was new to the console market and they did big strides. Better then Sega and it's Dreamcast which is an acheivement of it's own. It's also improved a lot with the 360.

You really have to seperate the whole MS for windows and MS and xbox. They are really 2 different entities. If your screaming biased at others you may want to bring that back in cause it's what your doing based off an OS which is still more successful then any others out there.

I have only played the first one and for it's time it was good. Not great but good. And if were just talking consoles then it was great. It did what no others could. Comfortable console FPS with online, leaderboards, etc. So it was the pioneer. It has it's flaws obviously.

i will admit the wii OS is on par for fail with the xbox's but the PS one kicks ass... it has the networking down for it and it is user freindly as well as non intrusive and easy to navigate.

ya... thats it... the halo series is good... but in no way does it deserve the hype it receives from the gaming community, it makes me really deslike it because of that...

You have to give each company their dues. PS was the king but they have largely buried themselves since the PS3. They are just digging their heads out of their asses now and starting to gain some ground. Their PSP which was a flop has turned itself around and I am sure the PS3 can do the same.

Wii is the new king but no real substantial substance. And they seem floundering right now begging people to help them out. As I said it's hillarious one of the systems high points is other companies consoles games made available.

360 has had it's growing pains with hardware and customer service. But now they seem more robust in games and seem to be going in a positive direction. And let's just say their online while it is pay "epic fail" it is the best network solution still.

I think the PSN can be a lot better. I find it chaotic when browsing it. Not to say 360 is any more intuitive but I find it easier. Could just be more usage out of it. But for gaming, leaderboard, etc their service is top notch. I think their new layout will make a huge difference.

i highly doubt that MS really needs 70$ a year from everyone just to support and maintain the online community...

shit i keep forgetting to finish getting my PSP modded... i spend like 300$ (plus a 4gb memory stick and component cables) on it and i still havent gotten it modded yet..

it is getting pretty pathetic with the wii. i havent bought a game for it for like a year now... mariokart was the last one i bought.

its pretty funny... i think i only have 2 third party wii games right now... 1 of them is uber fail too (red steel) and the other is quite underdeveloped for a released title but still manages to kick ass (no more heroes)

I think Red Steel had it's heart in the right place. It is a good game and a series I would like to see evolve.

As for $70 thats like WoW players wanting to play for free. Servers come at a cost. If other companies want to take the hit then ok but for the usage it get's I think $9 a month is fair enough. However I would like them to make it more worth the money in the sense of more exclusivities. More then getting demo's first. Maybe videos, interviews, e-articles, etc that are really worth while.

i just think its a little dishonest for them to make a profit off of people when they are supposed to be providing a service thats all..

i would gladly pay like 2$ a month or whatever the ACTUAL cost of server maintenance is instead of the like 6 or whatever it is..

I am pretty sure it's expensive. You have to pay for bandwidth, server maintenance, repairs, new equipment, etc. Doesn't come cheap at all. Silver membership is free and mostly has everything you need. Just if you want actual game hosting service you pay for it which is totally acceptable. If you pay $15 a month for a WoW account, then you can pay $9 and have access to play all you games online and not just 1.

Yeah unfortunately for WoW they pretty much sold out on that one. From changing lore to making it a gear fest. I think thats why I appreciate WAR. Everyone is on the same playing field with nothing uber. No twink characters who obliterate everyone else. Even if you have an awesome item you can still get whomped good.

let me chime in now:
wii os fails hard, getting better but i just don't like the fact that if you're downloading a game and the server is busy or slow, your stuck watching mario run across the screen.
the channels are an idiotic idea, i haven't run out of space, but i know i will eventually. why not have folders: VC, Wii channels(ala net, weather, news, etc), Wii ware.
it's about time they started letting you save your VC and wiiware to SD but will they work from there is another story.
360 OS is better but still fails because it's microsoft ugly, bulky user interface. i picked up the remote for the first time and couldn't figure out how to get into the disc for a while. imagine how someone who doesn't know how to use a pc would feel. i think wii's is cleaner, but...

360 offers more as an os.
we'll see how the new vista-esque the new os is.

ps3, it intrigues me, i haven't played around with it enough to say i like it or not. it's simple i'll give it that.

lol You need to stop referring to it as the Vista esque OS. It's not an OS, it's a GUI and not even Vista in style either. What is vista style? If you saying plastic and transparent the Vista is a derivitive of OS X.

I think that the new UI for the 360 will be much more streamlines which they need. I like the PS3 UI for this. It's straightforward and you know where you going. I just don't fancy the store right now. It needs to be cleaner and slicker. Maybe customizsble for each person.
