yeah, export of second hand japanese cars is huge, mostly because of strict regulations where cars need to be maintained regularly in japan.. the downside being that owning a car in japan (especially tokyo) is insanely expensive, but the upside is that when cars are sold overseas they are usually in pretty great shape.

always found in funny that in north america people would import RHD cars to be 'cool', especially the fast and furious/initialD fanboys.. in japan, people import LHD cars even though it's annoyingly inconvenient since the roads are not built for it, so people need to hop across the passenger seat to pay a toll for example lol

funny enough, the opposite situation from st-kitts, in eastern russia most cars are RHD Japanese imports despite not being a left-side traffic country

noticed last summer in mtl as well quite a few kei trucks, they're being imported more and more as to not have to pay insane prices for a pickup truck that's usally only ever used at 20% capacity

in st kitts though, is there a used car shop where you can buy from local people rather than all the hassle of paperwork to import a car from the US?

I love kei trucks. I saw a small documentary by NHK about them and fell in love with the idea. I think they'd be perfect for here but they end up costing a fortune.

There are a couple of people selling used cars as a profession here but they know they can sell them at extreme markups due to import prices.

I've found vehicles on beforward.jp where the price of shipping is more than the price of the car, by 2 to 3 times as much.
