Get it while it's 'hot'. SP1 was announced just two days ago, and already you can find torrents of it.

"Two days after Microsoft announced its Windows Vista Service PacK 1 is RTM ready, the update package can be found on torrent sites, such as PirateBay or Mininova.

still not worth the effort. vista seems like it might go the way of ME. there's rumblings of windows '9' coming out next year.
not going to happen that soon, but it doesn't bode well for vista.

Actually it is Windows 7 and if they do what rumors are saying and that is pretty much almost scrapping their current code and going with a more efficient code then it might be good.

You cannot bet on release dates either. For OS's they always get pushed back.

I have had the beta of sp1 for Vista. You pretty much notice nothing. Might support more hardware and software but then again I have no problems right now
