Someone Remind me

at 10:55 - 22nd, February 2010
Why are NHL players allowed in the olympics?
i don't think it's right to all the players who play hockey in Canada and the states, let alone places like russia, Sweden and other countries.

i can understand the it would be very hard to draw the line at some point, russian hockey league, european (is there a european league?)

to me it just seems to take away from the sport, i mean you basically have these teams made up of national superstars. which is also why i think the states is a serious contender now. i didn't see the game last night, wanted to but i'm sure i'll hear all about it in the american news channels today as the day progresses.

Brodeur has sucked all month in regular NHL games. Hell I was upset about his selection in the summer because his stupid road hockey style will be exposed unless Lemaire brings his uber trap to the Olympics (instead they brought slow-ass Pronger and turnover Niedermayer *facepalm*). Though I have just as much worry with Luongo (aka 7UONGO) and his bizarre ability to shit the bed in important games, at least he can BUTTERFLY. And Fleury is overrated (yea, Chris Osgood won Stanley Cups too, doesn't mean he's good)... But you know it's bad when Crosby tips a puck into his own net.

Getzlaf = useless. Big body, big deal. He's injured, and his "I tested it against the Oilers and scored 4 points that night" is rediculous. The Montreal Juniors can beat the Oilers these days.

Perry was the most shameful display of protecting an empty netter I've ever seen. Anyone seen Heatley after that 1 goal? Thornton? Marleau? Staal? Iggy? Hello?

When Drew Doughty, the 20 year old kid from the Kings, is your best D you got a problem.

I'm sick of hearing about the Miracle on Ice. That was no Miracle. Miracle was college kids VS the Red Army.

If you're going to be a team of superstars, then play like your superstars. That was like an All-Star Game.

I'm still cheering for Belarus and Suomi (Finland), and was cheering for Denmark because a guy named Vikingstad is just too awesome for words, but no one is going to defeat the Swedish Defense Killbots...

LOL fan quote of the day:
"Crosby's -3 last night can be attributed to being on a line with Martin Brodeur"

For one thing...he was playing the puck like Cedrick Desjardins. (And I got a lovely view of that on Sunday at the Bell Center x_x Holy crap he's lucky the Bulldogs are great defensively and protect him amazingly). The best was the baseball swing right to Rafalski who shot it back at him (and 'cause he can't butterfly but instead stacked the pads, it went right through him).

All this talk about how they outshot them is redundant though. Half those shots were right to Miller's feet. Everyone knows you don't beat Miller low unless he doesn't see it or someone can hit the rebound. Just shooting for the sake of shooting only jacks up a guy's save percentage.
