Wode Loader fo wii

at 20:06 - 29th, January 2010
Wow, i just got an email from homebrewdev.com about the wode loader for wii. (so far this post sounds shockingly like one of those comments from those mod chip websites...)
they advertise it as a usb mass storage loader for the wii.
here's the details from the website:
WODE - WII OPTICAL DRIVE EMULATOR
The Wode is a massive breakthrough in the Wii industry. It allows you to load and play backup off of a USB Mass Storage device. It is a USB Loader via hardware which means no issues with compatibility, no worrying about bricking your Wii.

The Wode Wii comes packaged like the original Wii docking station and has a built in LCD screen for scrolling through your softwares. Being packaged like the original Wii docking station means it retains its clean, sleek look.

Features:

- Play Wii & GC backup direct from USB Mass Storage devices @8X read speed (HDD and FLASH drive)
- Complete Solder free install solution
- Easy to use GUI - LCD & Joystick)
- Region mod, Update blocker, Autoboot.
- Passthrough with FLAT-MOD mode built-in, play to access dvd reader at 3X read speed
- Powerful ARM9 MCU
- Totally Flexible Linux Kernel
- USB hub support for multiple USB devices connection

- Great File System support - use existing WBFS formatted media or 'drag and drop' to existing USB devices
* NTFS
* WBFS
* EXT3FS
* HPFS

- Future updates will bring more cool features since it's based on Linux OS!

incredible. it's not on any US or canadian sites that i could find just yet, though it probably won't be long.
here what it looks like:

wode loader for nintendo wii

and finally, a link to the site with the loader

i have no idea if it works yet or the compatibility of it. but with a linux os it's upgradable and if the team keeps updating it then shouldn't worry too much about it breaking.

drive is not in the stand. mod chip and usb is in the stand
stand is way to small to house the drive.
