Yup, when a company says that they are simplifying a classic game. It usually means were butchering it and making it in conjunction with Fisher Price.

StarWars BattleFront leaked footage

at 11:21 - 15th, January 2009

I'm really tired of all the star wars shit there is now. I can live with the fact that the only good star wars stuff was maybe 2 games (dark forces and maybe return of the jedi on snes) and the original movies, not the abomination lucas calls star wars 1, 2 and 3.
I do, however, realize that there are people out there who have become star wars fans, john, and people who've always liked it. so that being said, I present leaked footage of people running in star wars battlefront.

stupid star wars...

there's been a few good games in the star wars universe, x-wing, tie fighter and rebel assault, kotor 1 & 2 among others .. most games for the series are pretty crappy though

KOTOR AND KOTOR 2 are also reportedly excellent. But yeah there have been a few less desirable games. As for the movies I think that they were all good. I think people take the new trilogy out of context.

Episode 4 - 6 is dark and gritty. The bad guys won and the good guys are struggling to find hope. Episode 1 - 3 are more happier with the good guys still in charge. People were used to the gritty so wtf was this new trilogy.

Also what worked against it was that people just wanted to see Anakin become Darth. I mean people bitch about Jar Jar, etc but he was no less annoying then the Ewoks. Enjoy the story for what it is and thats the fall of the republic.

the problem, and rich from the store actually pointed this out and can tell it better than i can, is that the original star wars was about vader. it was about reacting to what vader was doing and that made the movies more interesting. gave them purpose and direction.
the new movies focus on different things, 1st a pod race which was cool but not worth a main story plot, and then later following the demise of anakin.

in my opinion the story should of been the rise and destruction of anakin in the first movie. then the hunting down of the jedi in the second and third.
follow someone else in the second and third movies, like padme and yoda.

anyway, just ramblings from an annoyed movie watcher who thinks they know better.

But it told the influences on what made Anakin who he was and how he slowly descended into the dark side. It's poetic to see an happy little child turn into the Linkin Park adolescent teen who is crushed when his mother dies from slavery and kidnapping. It made him lose the last piece of innocence he had.

The jedi being annihilated are a sub story. The whole trilogy was how we got from a - f.

A to F indeed

i still think lucas went about it badly. i mean the guy ruined indiana jones for christ sake.

What they whole UFO thing? I found it a bit odd but you know what. It's pulp fantasy. So high adventure, fantastical events happening, etc.

It was an excellent movie. Considering him and Spielburg did the movie and the originals they know the franchise and setting more then us. Like ripping peoples hearts out, the ark of the covenant, ufo. All unbelievable things. It's called suspension of disbelief. You might want to try it or not bother with the movies anymore.

ufo's shouldn't be in indiana jones! i'd except it if it in a lara croft/tomb raider movie but this was retarded

and who can forget this:

That was just awesome. It kind of kids how unsafe products were as in using lead contents.

You see, humor and something unbelievable...oh that would be pulp fantasy as in Indiana Jones. Try again

you know they've coined the phrase 'nuke the fridge'.

it's the same as jump the shark but for movies.

besides, this is how i see them coming up with the idea:

spielberg: 'hey george, remember that one indy scene where he jumps out the plane with a raft and slides down the mountain to safety?'
lucas: 'yea...?'
spielberg: 'we need to make it bigger! with bombs or something!'

I doubt they approach it that way. Honestly they are the two more serious people about their profession. Crap is not an option for them. You may not enjoy aspects of their movies but overall each one is just excellent none the less.

i can't even say that spielberg is good at what he does. check his imdb and you'll see a lot of crap in there.

i hate to do this, but i'm surprised you think this way about them when they're basically the same as iwata and miyomoto

I am looking and I mostly see hits. Sure there is fluff but some of it is not even directed at us like a bunch of his children movies.

And if you go by other people stats to determine if he is good then you don't really have an opinion.

actually i take it back, a lot of his recent stuff aimed at me has been good. at least the realistic stuff.

Yeah but thats just your type of movies. Shindlers List or AI might not be your cup of tea but if you look at it objectively with no preferences they are excellent movies. I had to watch Shindlers List in film class and right an essay on it about the cinematography.
