Windows 7 Beta

at 16:36 - 8th, January 2009

The Beta for windows 7 is coming out tommorow and i was thinking of trying it out. It's suppose to be alot more stable and less of resource hog than vista. I'll probably install it on a partition on my laptop. Anyone else thinking of trying it out?

Read somewhere that there are only going to be 2.5 million downloads that will be allowed for the legal version of the beta on the 9th. There's also a torrent that's been available for a week or so.

Yeah, looks like i might have to get the torrent version, the only place i found that gave any info was the Keep up with windows 7 development, but now i'm getting a server is to busy error. Wish they were more specific than "afternoon".

It's the same version. The main difference is that it can't be used as long since it won't have a valid key, it'll only last for 90 to 120 days.

Ha, looks like the reason they pulled it was because too many people wanted to get it. I checked it again and found this message

Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal -- we?re in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We?re sorry for the delay and we?ll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.

Working much better, got my key in a couple of min and took less than an hour to download.

When i started to burn the ISO, I realized how long it's been since i used the dvd burner. I had a dvd in it and had no idea what was on it.

That was one of the most painless OS installs i've ever gone through. All the drivers were installed automaticaly for my laptop and it's running very smoothly.

Really like the new taskbar, they made some good design choices, it's very clean.
